Ivory Coast Gold output to pass 8 Tonnes in 2008

Ivory Gold production will go from 1.5 tonnes to 8.5 tonnes in 2008 thanks to investment/extraction by Canadian mining company, Etruscan Ressources,[TSX:EET]that has been exploring for gold and diamonds in Africa for over 12 years. The Australian mining corporation,Equigold,[Asx:EQI],and British RandGold[Lse:RRS;Nasdaq:GOLD] also joined the ranks of the gold hunters in the Ivorian market.[Abidjan.net]

US$400 million Africa Fund

Aureos,a leading global private equity fund manager focusing on investments in small to mid-cap enterprises in emerging markets worldwide. In the past Aureos raised three private equity funds in Sub-Saharan Africa: the Aureos Southern Africa Fund (US$50 million), the Aureos East Africa Fund (US$40 million) and the Aureos West Africa Fund (US$50 million) with combined committed capital of US$140 million.
The new and larger fund will seek to make investments of between US$2 million and US$10 million focusing mainly on companies with the potential to build pan-African businesses.[Business Daily]
